Pizze Express Ely Review

We were recently invited to review Pizza Express in Ely, Cambridgeshire, to try out their latest menu. Here is our review of Pizza Express Ely.

Pizze Express Ely Review

Up first, I had to try a drink new to the menu – Watermelon chill. This was a blend of watermelon, strawberry, apple and fresh mint, and was perfect for a hot summer's day.

The menu had a lot to choose from, so we decided to order two different starters and share them. I chose the calamari, which was so nice and light! It was lightly crumbed so wasn't too heavy.

Tony opted for a special on the starter menu – the cod crocchette. This is a creamy smoked cod, mozzarella, jalapeno mix gave a great kick!

Out of the two, I definitely preferred the calamari.

Onto the mains, we did our usual trick of sharing our meals. That way, we get to try out two different meals!

I chose my favourite Pizza Express pizza, the Sloppy Giuseppe which came with:

  • Hot spiced beef
  • Green peppers
  • Red onion
  • Mozzarella
  • Tomato

Tony opted for the Diavolo, which was a lovely spicy pizza with:

  • Hot spiced beef
  • Pepperoni
  • Mozzarella
  • Green peppers
  • Red onions
  • Tobasco sauce
  • Jalapeno peppers

Again, a nice spicy meal. I definitely preferred Tony's to mine, and that's what I would order next time we went.

Time for dessert, this time I wasn't sharing! I opted for the chocolate fudge cake, and it was honestly the nicest chocolate fudge cake I have ever, ever had!

Tony opted for a lighter dessert, with raspberry sorbet. He said it was amazing!

Overall we loved our trip to Pizza Express Ely and we are looking forward to our next visit!
