If you're finally ready to take the leap and bag yourself your dream job – congratulations, this is the first step to making things become a reality. It's scary going after something that you really want, because there's always that little bit of doubt in the back of your mind that will make you question yourself and worry whether or not you're capable enough. But when this happens, the trick is to believe. You need to tell yourself that you can do whatever you put your mind to, because you will always be your worst critic, so if you're able to battle that part of yourself, you will overcome so many obstacles.

Here are some more things that you can do to get that little bit closer to reaching your dream.

Get the grades

If you know that there are specific qualifications that you need to have on paper before you even think about applying for a job, you will want to make sure that you get them. If you already have commitments though and are worried about how you'll fit that with going to school – don't worry, there are plenty of online dnp fnp courses that you can schedule in around your own routine depending on the flexibility you have. So essentially you can study at home, or while you're on the move as long as you have the internet.

Stay motivated

It's very easy to let things slip, especially if things are beginning to get a lot harder. There will come a time where you question whether it's all worth it, as it would be so much easier to quit. But this is where it will take a lot of your strength to stay determined and driven, because once you've made it, it'll be so worth it. One way to keep you on track is to have breaks. You don't have to be running at one hundred percent all the time, it's okay to slow down and take some timeouts so that you are able to recuperate and recharge your batteries.

Enter the circle

A very common phrase is that it's not what you know – it's who you know. And while your knowledge is of course very important, it definitely helps if you know some people within the industry. This isn't necessarily so they can just hand you out a job for free, but they may be able to put in a good word about you to the people higher up, and that will be a huge help. Not only that but you may be able to find someone that is willing to mentor you, feeding you all the appropriate tricks of the trade that will be very handy the further you go.

Now you have some helpful tips, put them to use and don't give up until you've done all that you can. One of the most important things to have, is confidence. Once you have that, no one can stop you.
