Emma Drew

A bit about me…

My family fled South Africa, where I grew up, because someone tried to kill my Mum in our own home. We left with only out suitcases, and lost everything. What followed was 6 months of living in a homeless hostel, sometimes relying on food banks to get by. I vowed that I would never see myself in that situation again, and I haven't!

Since then I went on to university and graduated into the recession, where I had to turn to online money making to get by. I started my blog as a way of showing my readers what works and what doesn't, and it really took off! I handed in my notice to my full time job and left in November 2015, and started employing my husband a couple of months later.

Since then I have grown my blog into a six-figure business, and I am passionate about sharing my hints and tips with my readers. I have developed a free six-week money making course to help anyone earn extra money, which you can sign up for below.

  1. Clearly I’m going to disagree on the “Working till retirement” line but apart from that I like your ideas here!

I love (or loved… ran out of them years ago) milking the gambling site offers, it’s a nice little earner that albeit a one off! 🙂

    1. Luckily my fiance hasn’t milked the gambling sites yet….so that’s on my to do list for the next few weeks (of course ensuring they allow more than one account per household!)

  2. Love your blog which I cam across from Mrs Mummypenny… hoping your great advice will inspire some new money making sources. Hey, I may be local to you too, (TK Maxx in Stevenage is dangerous!)

  3. Love your blog. I was able to retire early at 55 after 38 years as a nurse.. I receive my NHS Pension which is a godsend but it still means my income reduced by £30K

I am loving this third age of my life and have appreciated that time and freedom is worth more than money and am constantly learning ways to enjoy my life frugally without missing out on any fun or luxuries. I have learned some new tips from you
